City Kids Shine

Young Innovators  of the Electronic Age is an educational  organization  whose purpose is the training of motivated and gifted young people in the field of communication and broadcast media.

Our  program not only  trains teens to understand and use the media The shows documents a list of actvities and achievements in little known areas of the city .The show also present the intelligent  side of inner city youth .

During the ten or more years of  production more than 1500 teens were  able to produce  weekly live shows

The format requires  interviews of  various guests  under the supervision of Ingred Leacock the producer. The teens plan and prepare most of the questions, and select topics of interest to the youth .

Some of our topics and guests  have included Congresswoman Caroline Maloney, Emanuel Stern Homes for the Homeless State Senator Olga Mendez, Dr Michael Ford David Jones Director of New York City Youth Bureau.Dr Jennifer Howes March of Dimes discussing "Teenage Pregnancy . Thomas Hanrahan Daily News Reporter, and a list of very interesting guests.

Our target audience is Inner city Youth who will report on the news in their commmunity. Today there is  a shortage of local  news. The Large Media groups such as New York One NBC , CNN can  cover only  a small percentage of local  News. 

The Young Innovators News Team  can cover the community news as well as show the news as seen through the eyes of the Youth   

 Our long term goal is to develop a Young Innovators Television/Radio Production company operated by teens. We are currently approaching  Corporations and individuals for grants
